Activity history

An unchangeable log of who changed what and when, for every client, with filters to find a particular change.

What it records

The Activity page is an immutable log of changes. It records who did something, to what, and when, across clients, strategies, tasks, campaigns, reports, meetings, opportunities, content, comments, approvals and websites. “Immutable” means nobody can edit or delete an entry, including administrators.

Examples: a task’s status was changed, an objective was edited, a report was published, an approval was decided, a task’s dependency was overridden and why, an AI draft was requested and how long it took.

Find a change

Open Activity in the SEO Ops menu. Filter by:

  • User: who did it.
  • Client: whose account it affected.
  • Entity: the type of thing, such as a task or a report.
  • From and To: a date range.

Each client also has its own Activity tab, so you can see everything that happened on one account in order.

Who can see it

Administrators and SEO Managers can see the full activity log. Other roles see the activity for the clients they can access. Clients do not see the internal log. What a client sees is the history that concerns them: their decisions on approvals are kept permanently. See Roles and permissions.

What it is good for

  • Settling “who changed that?” without a debate.
  • Proving a decision. An approval records who decided, what and when. See Approvals.
  • Handover. A new account manager can read what happened on a client before their first call.
  • Accountability for overrides. Dependency overrides are logged with a reason.

Questions the log answers

QuestionHow to find it
Who moved this task to Completed?Filter by entity (task) and client, and look at the date.
What did we change on this client last week?Filter by client and a date range.
What did a colleague do on Friday?Filter by user and date.
Who skipped a dependency, and why?Look for the dependency override entries, which include the reason.
When did the client approve the redirects?Filter by the approval entity for that client.

Using it well

  • Check a client’s Activity tab before a call, to catch up on what happened since the last one.
  • Use it for handover when someone new takes over an account.
  • Do not use it as a performance tool. It is a record of what happened, not a score.

Common questions

Can I delete an entry?

No. That is the point of it. If something was recorded in error, the correction is a new entry.

Does it log passwords or API keys?

No. Keys are never placed in messages or logs.
