Using AI for SEO drafts without losing control

Where AI helps, and why every draft needs human review.

AI is good at producing a first draft quickly. It is not good at knowing what is true about your client. Used well, it saves time on the first draft and leaves the judgement with your team.

Where AI helps

  • Turning a strategy recommendation into a first list of tasks.
  • Breaking a large task into subtasks.
  • Summarising a long comment thread or a set of findings.
  • Drafting a monthly summary from work that has actually been completed.

Where it needs care

AI can state things confidently that are wrong. It should never be the source of metrics, results or facts about a client. Give it real data to work from, and treat anything else it adds as a suggestion to check.

Keep a person in the loop

Every AI draft should be reviewed, edited and approved by someone on your team before it goes anywhere near a client. Mark AI-generated content clearly, so it is obvious what still needs checking.

Keep control of the credentials

Use your own account with the AI provider, so you decide which provider and model to use and what you spend. Your key stays on your site.

What this looks like in SEO Ops

AI in SEO Ops is optional and uses a provider you configure yourself, such as OpenAI or Google Gemini. It generates drafts, which stay internal until a person reviews and approves them. Nothing generated is sent to a client automatically.
